What a beautiful day! :)

I just returned home to my flat after a nice walk from the gym with my teammate Kasia Czubak. The sun is shining and it's actually rather warm outside, so instead of riding shot gun in the team car like I do everyday to get back home, I thought I would enjoy the weather and give the walk a try. Besides, I live like ten minutes from the gym, so it's not a far trek at all.

We even stopped at the Peikarnia (bakery) on the way! I love this place. They sell some of the best kulachki (donuts) I've ever had. Nothing too big and stuffed with filling inside like most donuts I've had here in Poland. The kulachki at this place is a small round piece of soft dough with powdered sugar on top, just like a good old-fashioned American donut! Mmmmmmm....:) Speaking of America, going home for the holidays was so much fun! I got to spend a lot of time with family and friends that I haven't seen in a very long time. I hugged and kissed my mother and father a lot, went shopping with my brother, ate TONS of food, slept in my own bed, played with cat a lot, and stayed up all night hanging with friends from high school most of the time. It was hard to say goodbye once again, but coming back to Poland the second time around was definitely a lot easier than when I came the first time. It's so much better coming back to a place and people that I am familiar and comfortable with. And after a couple days back in the city, I have to admit, I think I might have missed this place...just a little. HA! It does feel good to be back into the routine of practice and games every week again. I have a renewed interest and desire to show up to the gym everyday that I think I was slowly losing as the months went by without seeing my family and friends. But, the past two weeks have been nothing but fun with my teammates and coaches on the court. I have every reason to smile....:) Speaking of smiles, our team published our calendar for the new year and guess whose picture is up for the month of January? ME! So, everywhere I go, I see my big head and my bright Kool-Aid smile hanging up somewhere. I'm not a huge fan of the photo, but everyone in this country seems to think its beautiful. I've heard nothing but great things about it, so I can't complain. I must say tho, we do have one of the best looking teams in all of the PLKK! We're one of the best teams in this league as well....just wait and see.
